Earlier this year I had the opportunity to meet and shoot with lovely Roarie Yum, a talented, versatile and utterly pleasant model from Florida, USA. Being on tour through Europe, later leaving Stockholm for Oslo and Bangkok (!), Roarie surely got to see and experience the lot.
One evening a couple of weeks before, my phone “told” me I’ve got a message through the Model Mayhem. It was a travel notice from Roarie Yum, this strikingly beautiful model I immediately recognized from some wonderful images taken just a while earlier by an Irish photographer I admire greatly, Ciaran Whyte. She was coming to Stockholm, wanting to shoot – an opportunity I surely wouldn’t like to miss out on!..
It had been the last day at my former job, I was running out of time and almost showed up late at our meet up. None of my photo gear were set up arriving back at the place for the shoot – also at my former job– but finally I got my things together, and after some coffee and gingerbread cookies and pleasant conversations regarding Mr Whyte, art and music, we were making simple yet artful work. We shared the idea of some close up work and tight close cropping, that would really bring out her eyes and beautiful facial features, also rendering some great angles and compositions.
Roarie was so easy going, a natural poser, and I don’t think I have to mention how the hours we shot flew past all too fast?! Thank you Roarie for a good time – wish you all the Best!
